Pride Speeds Past Command, 18-5
Majorana Scores First 2 Point Goal of 2019 Season
(MIDLOTHIAN, VA) — The Pride avenged two separate 1 goal losses to the Command in 2018 by coming out on top 18-5 on June 15th at IWLCA’s Champions Cup. Led by attackers Halle Majorana and Alex Aust, the Pride set a new program record for goals in a game.
The Pride out-powered the Command every quarter (5-1, 4-0, 4-3, 5-1), setting the pace for the game from the get go, with Sydney Pirreca scoring :37 seconds into the game. Virtually every attacking player on the Pride tallied a point, led by Majorana (4g, 3a), Aust (4g), Mollie Stevens (3g), Katie Kerrigan (3a), Pirreca (2g) Olivia Home (2a), SammyJo Tracy (2g), Shelby Fredericks (1a), and Molly Hulseman (1a). Named player of the game, Majorana scored the first 2 point goal of the WPLL season. The Command were led by #2 overall pick in the 2019 WPLL College Draft Kenzie Kent, who finished her first game as a pro with 2 goals and a game high 5 ground balls.
Even more special than the high scoring game was the crowd gathered at Champions Cup. Over 1,500 fans from across the country surrounded the field, cheering on their favorite professional players. As the league continues to grow, we look forward to connecting with even more fans.
